When it comes to making the perfect outfit, there are few certain things you have to consider. You have to think about the colors, the style, and any accessories you’d like to add to make the clothes pop. But arguably the most important part of an outfit is the shoes.
Every year, a new pair of shoes takes the spotlight and everyone feels they just have to have them, even if their closets were already filled to the brim. For this article, we’re going to be focusing on sneakers, but not just any sneakers. We’ll be looking at sneaker collaborations that have made quite the impact this year and maybe by the end, you might consider buying some yourself!
A$AP Rocky
Not only is Rocky an influential figure in the world of hip-hop, but he’s also considered to be a fashion icon as well. At first, the rapper was having trouble with his own clothing and footwear collaborations. But in 2023, Rocky made a great business decision and joined Puma as a creative director.
In fact, the rapper will be releasing a new collection of Puma shoes on October 9th of this year! This collaboration with Puma will feature an animal print collection with new versions of the Mostro and Inhale sneakers. So, hopefully you’re looking forward to seeing this new collection and you should check out A$AP Rocky’s other sneaker collaborations in the meantime.
Pharrell Williams
Making his music debut in 1999 as the lead singer of N.E.R.D., Pharrell Williams has been involved in the making of many pop hits over the years. But now, it seems that the singer has made a collab or two with some major shoe brands. Williams’ best collabs, however, have probably been with Adidas and he has been working with the company ever since 2014.
The latest release from Williams and Adidas was the Virginia Adistar Jellyfish in an orange colorway. It was released on August 23rd of this year and a green colorway is scheduled for release in the fall of 2025. Are you guys on team orange or team green?
Travis Scott
Like Pharrell Williams, Travis Scott is a musician who has a successful partnership with a shoe brand. When it comes to Nike and Jordan, Scott has released some pretty fire sneakers!
Scott’s most recent collaboration with Nike is the Mac Attack “Light Smoke Grey” release back in December of 2023. Funny thing is, his most recent non-sneaker collaboration was back in June of this year and it was a smoothie collab with Erewhon. Guess after finally getting the perfect shoes, you could stop and get a nice, cold smoothie afterwards.
Lil Yachty
Lil Yachty is definitely up there when it comes to having the best sneakers collabs! In 2024, the rapper got the chance to collab with Nike and released a pair of Air Force 1s with s white and blue colorway. But it was Yachty’s second Air Force 1 release that really took the sneaker world by storm.
Released in May of this year, “Lucky Green” was put out to the public and they match Lil Yachty’s own style perfectly. The yellow, green, and red palette is much more likely to catch someone’s eye. Just make sure you keep an eye out for future collabs involving Yachty.
Supreme
Look, some of you may not really care about shoe brands or anything like that. But even so, you should have at least heard of the company Supreme. After all, they have to be a really good company to be named “Supreme”, right?
And Nike must be really popular these days, because Supreme decided to help create new versions of SB Dunk Low shoes. The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low “94” was released back in September of this year and it included five colorways. Just so you know, certain colors will be available in certain regions, such as “Ink” being exclusive in Europe and the UK or “Ocean Fog” being a North America exclusive. All of the colorways looked cool, so don’t be too upset if you can’t find a specific one sold where you live.
